Thought for the day
Sep. 23rd, 2005 12:58 amWhen people say "I have no choice", that's never true. What they mean is "I am not willing to entertain any of the potential alternatives available to me". When you find yourself thinking you have no choice, ask yourself what the alternatives are and why none of them appeal. Then question the assumptions you're making that lead you to feel that way. You may end up making the same decision, but at least you won't feel so trapped into it because you'll be consciously aware of the reasons why you picked the option you did over all the other possibilities, and why it's important to you to go the way you're heading.
