You know how most cats kill sparrows and starlings? This afternoon I found what I assume was a dead pigeon in my back garden. (I wasn't going to look at it closely - it's resting in pieces in the bin.) There is an obvious culprit. The thing is she isn't much bigger than the pigeon was. Is this going to herald regular presents from now on? I do hope not.

Much panic this morning as I am unable to locate my purse. I decide to hold off on informing the credit card people as there's a chance it's in [livejournal.com profile] markbanang's rucksack. Good job, since when in a calmer frame of mind, it occurs that I was holding the bike helmet and might have placed it inside that. Inspection of the helmet bag, which incidentally bears an uncanny resemblance to a bowling bag, reveals that sometime in between getting off the bike and putting the helmet away, I managed to forget I'd put the purse in it.

What's especially interesting about this chain of events is that in no sense did I remember what I'd did. I worked it out from first principles as the only logical explanation for the facts. This strikes me as moderately twisted.

And the latest from the Stealth Underground Base is that the Stealth Underbed Cat seems to have emerged already after slightly over 24 hours in the building. It would appear that I most definitely fit into the privileged category of People Who Are Not Going To Kill and Eat Me.

So, after a month without Internet, I'm back online again. Nineve is now installed in the Stealth Underground Base, but the place is still a tip. Still in the process of adapting to life on my own, and very short of time at the moment, it seems, but contactable. Email to the usual places will now receive a semi-timely reply. Land line number is listed in the Contact Info post (see my journal links), which is accessible to a broad friends group.

I may still be a bit sporadic in my onlineness, but things are basically returning to normal. Hopefully Nineve will concur soon.

Back from a glorious weekend playing Maelstrom - many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] damianobf for the immense organisational prowess that made his event probably the most hassle free one I have ever been to from a player perspective - a real boon after what has been a hellishly busy week.

Here be roleplaying... )

Got a message from [livejournal.com profile] mr_snips this morning asking me to pop in when I returned, which paniced me slightly. Part of the hecticness of last week involved the transplantation of Nineve from [livejournal.com profile] lanfykins' place, where she had been residing hitherto. Nineve was duly installed for a couple of months sojourn Chez Snips until I get a new place sorted. However, it seems she has not yet emerged from hiding, although she may have had some food. This being Nineve, we now have absolutely no idea where the feline escapologist has gone to ground, so I spent an hour or so wondering round with cat treat in hand to see if I could entice her out. No luck, sadly, but hopefully she will calm down soon and realise that her new enviroment contains nothing more terrifying than the occasional visit from [livejournal.com profile] tea_and_cuddles, which, while often tonsorially disconcerting, should not really be a major cause of feline alarm. Further updates will be available as the situation progresses.
