Hitchhiker's Guide

I didn't think it was a bad effort, and certainly had its moments. I liked Alan Rickman as Marvin and Bill Nighy at Slartibartfaast. The Vogons looked cool, but most of the 'innovations' seemed a bit pointless. (What the hell was going on with those slappy things?) It looked nice, but I couldn't for the life of me understand why they took most of the jokes out. The Guide was also somehow uninspiring, without the charm of the TV series animations. It was nice to watch for nostalgia's sake, but in general didn't really live up to the earlier incarnations. I remember Hitchhiker's as causing me to lose it with laughter. This film barely raised a giggle, although that may be at least partly because all of the best jokes were already very familiar.
