The first chapter of the new Sam and Max game is nearly upon us. It's complete, and goes on sale on Tuesday in the States. (Those of us that live outside the US don't get to buy until Nov 1st, when we can order direct from Telltale.) There will be six episodes in the first run, and you can buy a season pass from Telltale for $34.99 or single episodes at $9 each.

More info at http://www.telltalegames.com/ - from the trailers, looks like it's going to be rather wonderful, if not quite as manic as the old Sam and Max hit the road. While I happen to think Gametap's business model is pretty bad (stop paying us and your games stop working - another good reason to buy direct from Telltale), I'd have to say that I'm glad they were there to put up the cash for the development. We've been waiting for a new Sam and Max game for over 10 years now, and the wait is finally over.

That was a sequel being done by Lucasarts. Sadly all the work that was done on it is now believed destroyed.
